A beautiful small Royal Copenhagen trinket box with a removable top. The top of the box was painted cobalt blue with the center design in a raised pattern in beige. The rim of the top and the outside of the bottom rim is light blue with brown tones. The trinket box has retail been well taken care of. There are no nicks or cracks. It can be a stunning piece in any room.
Inge-Lise Kofoed was an artist at Royal Copenhagen's faience and stoneware department under Nils Thorsson. She was one of the artists behind the well-known stoneware and faience series from the 60s and 70s. She was one of six young female artists from Denmark, Norway and Sweden who Nils Thorsson brought into the faience department in 1958 to create a whole new style that came to prominence throughout the 60s and 70s.
The Royal Copenhagen Porcelain factory was founded in 1775, under the protection of Queen Juliane Marie, by the chemist, Frantz Heinrich Müller, who following years of experimentation and trials finally mastered the production the coveted hard porcelain.
