Product code: Vintage cowhide leather doctor's bag retail
This genuine cowhide doctor's bag is from around the 1920's or 30's. Heavily pebbled cowhide. It is stamped on the bottom : Warranted Genuine Cowhide with #500 and 8. It measures 18" L X 10 3/4" W X 12 1/2" H. The interior is also leather and has pockets on both sides. One pocket is torn on one side and both are a bit saggy otherwise the lining is in very good condition. The exterior has scuffs and marks. There is one corner where the leather worn off. The leather on the metal frame is cracked and worn off in several spots and you can see the rusty metal. It closes and latches with some difficulty on my part. The hardware is tarnished. scratched and has a good amount of surface rust. It has 2 keys attached with twine. On is pretty rusty, the other looks pretty good. I have not tried to lock it, afraid that I may not get it retail open again. The leather is dry. I did clean and condition it but it could use some more detailing. The bottom feet have a lot of green tarnish.
