Product code: Mechanics belt 1.25" retail no scratch, metal allergy friendly

This fine leather mechanics belt is handmade using high quality full grain Hermann Oak leather. This belt is for mechanics looking for a belt that will not scratch as you lean against a vehicle. Also an excellent choice for those with metal allergies as the design keeps the very small amount of exposed metal from touching your skin.

A steel plate is hand stitched and riveted in place with a small hook protruding towards the inside of the belt, no metal is exposed on the outside of the belt. The leather is 8-9oz (3.5mm thick) and 1.25 inches wide, hand dyed, edges are rounded, dyed black and burnished for a smooth surface that slides easily through the belt loops on pants, belt end is cut to a rounded V shape.

The belt has 5 holes placed one inch apart for ease of size adjustment.

Color options: Black, Chocolate, Dark Brown, Mahogany, Light Brown, Natural and Tan.

A natural belt is undyed leather and will darken with age and use. Contact with oils, water and sun will darken the leather to a beautiful patina unique to each belt and wearer. To allow this to happen this belt is left completely unfinished, if you wish to add some protection to the belt a coating of Mink oil or Neatsfoot oil. Either of these oils will darken the leather similar to that of a natural patina, while still allowing the leather to naturally patina further with use and age.

Sizing:
Size of the belt is not based on pant size, but waist size. The most accurate way to measure the size needed for a new belt is to measure from the end of the belt buckle to the hole you use on your current belt.
