A Child’s History of retail England by Charles Dickens Decorative Antique Book

retail A stunner. Book has a dark, mustardy-yellow cover, with an embossed black stylized floral design. The title is gilt, in a sort of faux-Gothic font. My photos don't do it justice!

The book was published in Boston by Estes and Lauriat, in 1885. 470 pp. Some black and white illustrations. An inscription inside reads “C.H.Merrill 25th Dec. 1888”.

While lovely, the book is not in pristine condition. Mild stains and dings to the front cover, the “worst” (honestly not that bad) being a light stain around a centimetre long on the front right cover. Wear to the corners. A couple of more light stains here and there throughout the book. Pages show foxing and discolouration. Binding, however, is sound. In nice antique condition.
