The Viburnum x 'Juddii' - 'Juddii' Viburnum also called Judd Viburnum after William H. Judd who first created and introduced this viburnum in the 1920's. This semi-snowball hybrid shrub has small pink buds which turn into fragrant white, rounded flower clusters that bloom in the spring and later become small ornamental berry-like drupes enjoyed by birds. Foliage is a glossy dark green shade in an oblong serrated shape, later turns into a deep reddish-purple in the fall.

-Characteristics: Grows in a full, rounded, multi-stemmed shrub decorated with dark green leaves and snowball-like, white flower clusters. Blooms from April to May in most zones. Produces berry-like drupes after flowering season which are loved by birds and other wildlife. Flowers are magnets for butterflies and hummingbirds. Fall colors of deep reddish-purple hues.

-Soil, Water, Fertilize: Moist, loamy, well-draining soil with the pH 5.6-6.6 but tolerates any medium-moisture, well draining soil. Tolerant to heat and draught once established. Prune right after blooming period to promote growth and shape the tree but avoid damaging buds and berries. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, time released fertilizer. Relatively disease and pest free.
