ABOUT BETTY
Each chain maille design is artisan crafted by Betty in her sunny, eclectic studio. Her jewelry creations are carefully hand-crafted by weaving together each ring individually. The weaving of most of the jewelry designs takes several hours to complete. Of course the time to make the jewelry depends on the amount of rings and the complexity of the pattern. (Many patterns take between 3-8 hours.)

Betty has mastered a large selection of weave patterns, enjoys creating variations, and delights in learning new ones. Betty's specialty is creating One-of-a-Kind artisan-crafted jewelry designs for her clients to wear and enjoy.

CHAIN MAILLE HISTORY:
Chain Maille is an ancient technique that was used during the Middle Ages to weave rings into wearable garments and adornment. Back then blacksmiths used forged steel to craft the rings, which were then woven into protective shielding that was worn by knights and their horses. Kind of the "sword proof" vest of its time.
Today, Chain Maille has enjoyed a renaissance of popularity with anyone who loves metal jewelry adornment. Chain Maille garments are being created for cos-play, and can be seen at Renaissance Faires and Sci-Fi conventions.

MATERIAL:
All metals used are nickel and lead free.

COLORS:

SIZE:
For a comfortable bracelet fit: measure the circumference of the wrist and add ½ to 1 inch.
Some common retail necklace sizes are: 12" & 14” choker; 16" & 18” princess; 24” matinee; 36” rope.
The length of the earring is measured from the post or the ear wire connection to the bottom of the dangle; rounded to nearest ¼”.

CLEANING:
To clean aluminum or stainless steel, wash it with a gentle dish soap, (not a harsh detergent), and water, then rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean soft cloth.
Wearing silver jewelry is the best way to keep it from tarnishing. When the silver does tarnish, use a commercial paste or ultrasonic cleaner.
Over time copper will darken to a natural patina. If you prefer a shiny finish, copper can be cleaned with a commercial cleaner or soak it in pure lemon juice and salt for a few seconds.

CARE of JEWELRY:
It's highly recommended to remove jewelry during sleeping, exercising, or any strenuous activities. Perspiration, perfumes, body oils, and other chemicals might possibly damage and/or tarnish the metal. It is highly recommended to wipe-off the jewelry with a soft clean cloth after wearing, and store it in a closed plastic bag.
Aluminum is a very lightweight material, and the coloring will last a long time. Keep your aluminum jewelry away from corrosive chemicals like chlorine, bleach, and acid solutions to prevent it from oxidizing and losing luster. Aluminum and stainless steel are hypoallergenic and do not tarnish.

SHIPPING:
All jewelry items are wrapped in tissue paper and placed in an organza gift bag that is securely wrapped in more tissue paper and/or bubble wrap. The jewelry is shipped in either a padded shipping envelope or box (depending on the size and weight). Shipments include a tracking number, when available.
