Product code: Teasel Wildflower, 1777 Folio-Size Engraving by Miller, Rare Antique Botanical retail Print

Original large folio-size engraving of laciniated teasel by John Miller. It is a scarce 18th Century engraving on laid paper (with Whatman watermark) and original hand color. Miller's plates are some of the earliest botanicals to show the details of the plant's anatomy and reproductive systems.

From Miller's “An Illustration of the Sexual System of Linnaeus” published in London, 1777. retail The original informational text sheet, which identifies the different details of the plant in German and English, is included with purchase. It is an original hand-colored antique print, not a modern reproduction.

Dimensions:
Approx. 14" x 20-1/2" (sheet size)

Condition:
Very good for age.

It will be packaged in a sealed plastic sleeve and, given its larger size, will ship rolled within a tube for protection.
