Handspun Mohair Yarn retail - Sandy Beach - 40 yards, Super Bulky Yarn, Hand Dyed Yarn

This handspun yarn is made from 100% mohair and hand-dyed in blue and plied with natural fawn to create retail a barber pole effect. It is so soft!
This is a 2-ply super bulky yarn with approximately 5 WPI totaling 40 yards. This yarn was a raw fawn mohair fleece that I processed. I dyed some with acid dyes and left the rest natural. I spun straight from the lock which keeps the curl making a unique art yarn. The skein was soaked to set the twist and hung dry before measuring.

Mohair is sheared from Angora goats twice a year and is considered an affordable luxury fiber. It is a silky, lustrous, versatile, and durable fiber. Lock spinning preserves the curl of the mohair and creates a thick, unique yarn. Mohair can be used in a variety of applications from cardigans and shawls to decorative pillows and weavings.
