An antique retail cast iron heart trivet.

We are pleased to offer this lovely old trivet.

These heart trivets(so called as they have retail three little hearts interlinked in the centre) are becoming rare here in France.

This one was found in the kitchen of an old cottage estate sale here in Normandy.

Made in the 1920s they were used everyday on the table to avoid damaging the surface with the hot straight from the oven or fire dish.

Cast iron with the most beautiful lavender blue enamel worn and patinated.
Approx 9.5”(24cm)in diameter.
