I painted this Cooper's Hawk in August of 2019. It has been in storage since then.

"A medium-sized hawk of the woodlands. Feeding mostly on birds and small mammals, it hunts by stealth, approaching its prey through dense cover and then pouncing with a rapid, powerful flight."

Process: The photo is converted to pop art style on a computer and then projected onto the canvas where it is outlined. Many hours of painting, moving cats away from the easel, second coats, more moving of cats, and touch up are then applied.
