Sparkling 1/8" rhinestones set into a creamy ivory plastic bangle that is 1/2" wide and 2 5/8" across from inner rim to inner rim.
This has 40 angled rows with 4 rhinestones in each row.
While counting them, we noticed about 8 of them seem retail darker than the rest, one looks a bit large for it's hole, and another has a pin hole next to it; what this indicates to us, is this is more likely an older piece that has had a stone or more replaced to keep it in wearable shape.
Also, the inside of the bangle is a deeper color of yellow, typical of the aging process of early plastics, including celluloid.
In the mid 1950s Lea Stein and her husband produced a line of magnificent bangles decorated with rhinestones; this appears to be a striking copy, if not the real thing, and while her bracelets were not signed, this indeed could be a Lea Stein bangle. Since we don't know positively, we are pricing lower than hers would normally be found.
Great to wear to: weddings, cocktail parties, formal events, holidays
something old...something new...
