Those born in November have two birthstones: Citrine and Topaz. The bright yellow color of citrine is said to be a gift from the sun. Citrine is a yellow variety of quartz. Naturally occurring citrine is quite rare and expensive – most citrine available for purchase is made by heating it's purple sister, Amethyst. When subjected to heat, Amethyst changes color, becoming yellow. Citrine is a stone of optimism, warmth and clarity.

The tree of life is a mystical and magical tree that is well known in many cultures. It represents our connection to all things -- earth, air, water, fire. In Celtic culture, trees were the centre of all that occurred -- the absence of trees would be the absence of life. In Christian tradition, eating from the tree of life is said to grant immortality. In Norse mythology, the tree of life, or Yggdrasil, binds together all realms of existence. This ancient tree represents our connection to our ancestors and also of our individuality. The stages of a tree's growth through the year mirrors that of the cycle of life, similar to the eternal life/re-birth traditions in many religions.

Every part of the pendant is lovingly and thoughtfully handcrafted in my studio. It takes several hours of craftmanship to create each one of these sacred trees. The necklace will arrive beautifully packaged with an explanation of the symbolism of the tree of life and the meaning of the stone. This is a special and unique gift that won't be found anywhere else.

★ ORDERING YOUR NECKLACE ★

METAL COLOR

The pendant is available in bare copper, sterling silver fill, or sterling silver wire. Sterling silver fill wire is a copper or jeweller's brass base wire with a thick coating of sterling silver -- it is at least 10% silver by weight. It looks and wears like sterling. All of these metals will oxidize in time, turning a darker color.

CHAIN LENGTH

I will package this necklace with a chain that matches the wire in the pendant. You choose the chain length. See the photos for an example of how different chain lengths fit on different body shapes. If you prefer a black leather adjustable cord, please leave me a note when placing your order.

GEMSTONES

This pendant is available in all birthstones. I use genuine gemstone chips for each pendant. See the photos for colours – note that the color of the stones may vary depending on the stock available – they may not be exactly as shown in the photos. ★ JEWELRY INFORMATION & CARE ★

- The pendant is handmade in my studio from wire and genuine gemstone chips.
- The pendant is 1.25" wide and 1.5 inches long, including the bail.
- Always remove your jewelry before showering, bathing or sleeping.
- Your jewelry can be cleaned with a soft cloth. A small polishing cloth is provided with your set.
- Over time, the wire will tarnish and darken. This process actually enhances the beauty of the tree, adding additional depth to the trunk and branches. You can use a polishing compound to brighten up the wire if you wish. If you choose to polish your pieces, take care to avoid the crystals so they are not scratched.
- Please remember that I make each pendant by hand, down to finishing the chain. Your necklace will vary somewhat from those pictured -- it will be unique to you.

★ PACKAGING & SHIPPING ★

PACKAGING

This necklace is packaged in a jewelry box and tied with ribbon, ready for gift giving. It includes care instructions and a small polishing cloth. Items are mailed instead a recyclable padded poly mailer to protect the items from both the weather and damage during shipping.

PROCESSING TIME

I will ship your order within 3 retail to 10 business days of receipt.

SHIPPING

I am shipping from Canada. Standard shipping to Canada and the US includes tracking. In most cases, items are delivered within 10 days (plus my processing time), however, shipments sometimes are delayed for various reasons, particularly when international shipments are held up in Customs. Standard international shipping does not include tracking. Upgrades are available for tracked international shipping and faster delivery times. US and International customers are responsible for paying any taxes, brokerage, customs or duty fees that may be assessed.
