Product code: Antique Pink / Red Transferware Caledonia Soup Plate / Bowl - Adams & Sons, Stoke-on-Trent, England retail

This pink and white Caledonia transferware soup bowl / plate was made in the mid-1800's by William Adams IV & Sons, Stoke-on-Trent, England. The center scene is a man in full tartan regalia on a stag hunt with his hound standing atop a hill in a dramatic mountainous environment. It is surrounded with small scenes of stag hunting. Caledonia is the name the Romans gave to Scotland. The soup bowl is 11" in diameter and 1 1/2" deep. It's a very clear pink / red transfer. The base is stamped "Caledonia" and there is an impressed stamp.

The soup plate is in good antique condition, with no chips, or cracks, but there is significant crazing on the front and back, along with significant staining, especially on the back. Please see the photos for more detail. retail
