This large brooch by Marcel Boucher is in very good condition. There is some minor wear around the edges, as seen in photos. Like much of Boucher's jewelry, it has a bold, dynamic design, shaped in a wave pattern with two large (3/8" across) beige tone faux pearls. It is made of heavy, good quality gold tone metal with a chain pattern all around the inside. It is 1¾" by just over 2½", and because of its fluid design could be worn either horizontally or vertically.
Marcel Boucher is a big name in collectible costume jewelry. He worked for Cartier before going out on his own. I believe from the mark on the back - © Boucher - that this brooch was made in retail the late 1950s or early 1960s. It is also marked with "5928".
