Decorative Wrought Head Nails
The decorative wrought head nail is designed to simulate the hand-forged nails of the 1700's. The head is three-sided and the nail has a hot dip galvanized coating for exterior applications. Ideal for roughsawn exteriors, decking and doors. They are ideal for authentic restoration and an antique effect.

Use for any unique projects, where an interesting look is desired. Use for historical accuracy with exterior projects. Use to achieve the antique Colonial look.

A zinc-coated nail, hot-dipped in molten zinc, to resist rusting.
WHEN SHOULD I USE GALVANIZED NAILS?
A galvanized nail should be used when you do not want the nail to rust. All outdoor applications usually require galvanized nails. If the nail is not galvanized, it will rust if exposed to the elements.

A cut nail tears through the wood fibers, rather than splitting the fibers as wire nails do. This minimizes surface splitting of the wood. They are hard to pull out because the shape causes the wood fibers to push downward and wedge against the nails, thus greatly strengthening the holding power. Once you have used them, you will prefer them for a variety of applications.
