This is the actual piece you are buying. Finished retail with two coats of tung oil and felt dots on the bottom to protect your furniture.

This is old redwood fence posts that were salvaged in ND or MN. Whether they are old growth or not is a matter of debate. The growth rings are very tight compared to new lumber.
