Miriam retail Haskell Frank Hess Unsigned Brooch 1940s

Miriam Haskell brooch created by Frank Hess during the World War Two period, unsigned. This piece bears the distinct marks of Haskell style wire work retail on celluloid plastic disc backing employed by the company when metals were rationed to only military use. All the coiled beads are painted and varnished wood.
The bold red and sharp contrasting black make a wonderful and whimsical statement in the retro style of the time. No beads are missing, the plastic disc is intact and the pin closes with a c hook and works.
