Dorothy retail Long Redware Shaving Mug

Dorothy Long was a revivalist potter working in the PA German tradition mainly in 1970s in Wayne, Pa. She was fairly well-known around the heyday for Americana and revival arts during the Bicentennial era. This glazed redware shaving mug has black sponge like vertical decoration, applied handle and attached round side bowl, reads under base "Dorothy Long/Wayne Pa/1977." Very small flake at base, as seen in last pic and very fine hairline in side bowl. A great addition to a contemporary folk pottery collection or specific collection retail of shaving mugs.
