1930's/40's Chintz Bags

Forget the fact that they are bags, just look at the fabric!

Each bag measures 16 1/2 by 18 retail 1/2 inches and are in excellent, unused, unwashed condition. The polished cotton still retains its original glaze and sizing.

Both are machine sewn with a draw string top closure. The drawstring is actually a cotton twill tape, green in color. These are original to them , but could easily be replaced with a much prettier ribbon or tape of the same period. OR, can be opened up and made into a small pillow front!

The pattern is simply wonderful. Pale white camellias with tinges of light reddish brown on a deep russet ground interspersed with strands of blue grey ribbon - eye catching!
