Very early 1700's Native American Iron Fish Spear. Came from Western PA area near Harrisburg. Hand forged iron fishing spear tip. Blacksmith made spear tip
made to trade to Native Americans for fishing. Would have been driven into the end of a long wooden pole. This would date to early 1700's before the Indian tribes in that area of PA were pushed further West. Could be Winnebago or Susquahanna tribe related? Very old iron showing its age with rough surface. Very light rust in some places. Hooked arrow type prongs still in tact on some of the 5 spear tips. It's a very large size fishing spear tip, probably for large size slow moving fish, possibly Sturgeon? Nice early Indian Trade item from retail the colonial period.
