The featured item above is a mid- century Japanese Shiokumi woman who is wearing a tall eboshi hat with an elaborate gold and orange silk kimono. The word shiokumi translates in English to " salt scooper "and on the front of each bucket you will notice a wave. Her face is made of finely crushed oyster shells known as gofun powder, and her eyes are made of glass.
