Very rare, antique, Victorian mourning hair retail jewelry. Exquisite hand-woven choker necklace. On sale now!

Mourning jewelry was popular in the Victorian era. Young ladies learned how to weave and stitch human hair into intricate jewelry to commemorate the passing of their loved ones.

This is not a replica or reproduction--actually from the mid-to-late 1800's. Astonishing handiwork!

This tube-shaped choker is one of the more intricate designs that I have seen in mourning jewelry. The necklace IS finished off at the ends, but you will need to add a clasp.

Necklace measures approx. 14" long. I will include the original sewing thread box that came with this. It's pretty amazing too. I still can't believe this is human hair!

No fraying or discoloration. Amazing condition for something handmade in the mid-1800's. If you collect mourning jewelry, this is an amazing find.
